This talk explains how the New Forest Show came into being in 1920 and the trials and tribulations that it went through to survive to the present day. The show was created in the aftermath of WW1 and the Spanish Flu epidemic. It survived the Great Depression, WW2 and Covid. It will soon be celebrating the 100th show.

I am a historian based in the New Forest, Hampshire. I am chairman of a local history society. I write history articles for publication. I work part time in a Hampshire military museum and I am a battlefield guide. I have a BA (Hons) and MA in history. I have been giving local and military history talks for ten years.
