This is a c.1hour talk in Ray's railways of the colonies series featuring New Zealand as one of Britian's most prominent of the former colonial counties. A highly scenic journey behind steam locomotives on both north and south islands including traversing Arthur's Pass and, with the complete train crossing the turbulent Cook Straight between the islands. As well as the main line, no less than 10 heritage steam operations are included along with some most unusual variants of the traditional Stephensonian locomotive.
