This 1 hour talk includes non-white or BAME women artists of different periods and backgrounds. There will be time for questions and interaction between each section of the talk and after it:
- Why do women BAME artists matter and why are there just a few of them in public and private collections?
- Examples of black representation in history of art
- Examples of black women artists today: Lubaina Hamid, Kara Walker, Lynette Yadom-Boakye, Nailing Malani, Jennifer Parker, Phoebe Collins-James, Wangari Mathenge, among others.
