Teaching is one of the most demanding professions - cognitively, emotionally and physically. This school-specific wellbeing talk is designed to support teachers and education staff with realistic, evidence-based strategies to protect their health, energy and mental wellbeing within the unique pressures of a school environment.

Drawing on current research in health, stress, sleep, nutrition and behaviour change - alongside my seven years’ experience working directly with schools and teachers - this session acknowledges the realities of education: limited control over breaks, constant responsibility for others, emotional regulation under pressure, and the difficulty of switching off at the end of the day. Rather than offering unrealistic 'self-care' ideals, the talk focuses on small, practical habits that genuinely fit into a busy school day.

Staff will learn how everyday health behaviours directly affect focus, memory, mood, resilience and decision-making, which are all critical for sustaining performance in the classroom. Topics include how to use movement in short bursts (even during supervision and transitions), how to improve sleep quality when the mind won’t switch off, how to manage chronic stress and adrenaline fatigue, and how to fuel energy and concentration when meals are rushed or unpredictable.

The session is interactive and engaging, with the option to include a short guided movement or stretch break designed specifically for bodies that spend lots of time standing and sitting. Tthe talk also validates that many drivers of teacher stress are systemic, but I provide staff with tools that help reduce burnout risk, support recovery after hard days, and maintain long-term wellbeing.

This talk is ideal for INSET days, wellbeing mornings, staff development sessions or trust-wide wellbeing initiatives. Healthier, better-supported staff means reduced sickness absence, improved morale, stronger retention and a more sustainable workforce - benefiting both staff wellbeing and student outcomes.

All talks can be tailored to your school or trust, with content adapted to suit teaching staff, support staff, leadership teams or mixed audiences.

About Georgia Bennett

Most recent testimonial: "gbp Consult had the pleasure of Georgia delivering a wellbeing workshop for our team, and I can't recommend her highly enough. The session was engaging, informative, genuinely impactful and relevant to us all as homeworkers. The session was tailored to suit our company's needs. Georgia was able to strike the perfect balance between practical advice and motivational energy. She has a wealth of knowledge to share, hence why our company have invited her back to deliver an additional 6 months worth of wellbeing sessions for our workforce. The feedback from our team was overwhelmingly positive with many inspired to make small sustainable changes to their daily routine."

I am a fitness professional living in and serving South East London who specialises in strength and resistance training. Having worked as a senior leader in the charity sector for over seven years, my career has been dedicated to helping people grow and develop, and supporting time-poor leaders to achieve ambitious goals and programme outcomes. I am an experienced public speaker and workshop leader, and my talk style is relaxed/conversational, informative and honest.

I am a huge advocate of balance and sustainability, and I think ultimately, balance equals health. Health, diet and fitness myths are sadly still rife, particularly with social media. I have made it my mission to educate people on these and show my clients that getting (and staying) fit and healthy never needs to include fad diets, restriction or unsustainable habits. I enjoy sharing knowledge on fitness, proper nutrition, strength training and the overwhelming benefits of this and the importance of good sleep.

Through a determined approach to education and self-learning, I have been through my own journey of fat loss, weightlifting and overall health and fitness development. I have sustainably lost over 10kg, I can now lift over two times my own bodyweight, I run half marathons in under 2 hours and I have gradually moved to a more hybrid and functional style of fitness.

I have transitioned from being fairly sedentary to loving movement and exercise for what it is and how it makes me feel, and I am dedicating my career to helping others live a happier and healthier life by achieve this feeling, too.
