The Garretts were a successful family, famous for many reasons. Elizabeth Garett was the first female Doctor to qualify in Britain and the first Female Mayor in the country later in her life. Her devotion for equality for women was matched by her sister Millicent, well regarded within the suffragette movement and commemorated in Parliament Square.
Approx. 50 minute PowerPoint presentation, an illustrated talk exploring the Garrett Family and Siblings who were the first in many things.

(Update January 2026 - I have been speaking to groups since 2014 and donate any fees given to charity, [two nominated each year] but regrettably with the cost of fuel I am now having to cover my expenses and then donating the remainder to charity.)
