The Second World War ended with the surrender of the German and Japanese armed forces in 1945, but why did the allied nations eventually prove victorious ?
In this talk to commemorate the end of World War Two, industrial and military historian Dr Richard Marks will take you through how the industrial might and commitment of the 'home fronts' of Britain and the United States overcame the axis powers. You will be surprised at how British Industry alone contributed to ultimate victory and how the powerhouse of the United States gave the allies a distinct advantage.
It is true that a Sherman tank can give you a nice edge !
