Antarctica is the most astounding place: a vision of what the planet would look like if homo sapiens wasn’t making such a mess of it. This talk captures a month spent sailing in the Antarctic peninsula, enjoying unnervingly close encounters with whales, observing the hilarious antics of penguins and kayaking amongst beautiful icebergs. Having sailed all the oceans of the world, Drake Passage was the ultimate challenge and another timely reminder of how the future of humanity will be determined by our oceans. A very serious message underlies the stunning photographs and entertaining film clips.

Helming though powerful storms and extreme weather, he sensed the impacts of overheated oceans. Those experiences, coupled with the birth of his 4 grandsons, are his motivation as an environmental activist. Back on land, his degree at Cambridge was in English Literature and the History of Art. This gave him profound insights into the work of William Blake and an on-going love of Fine Art and the Insights you can gain when you really look deeply at a painting.
