This is designed for audiences that want to engage with our environment. Starting with Edward’s dramatic circumnavigation and spiced with first-hand experiences of the effects of global warming on oceans and mountains, this illustrated session will explore some realities of the Climate Crisis. How can we use politics, the church and local action to bring about change? The international ‘COP’ conferences seem to come and go, with fine speeches and rhetoric, but actions only seem to be agreed after loopholes have been inserted. We are heading towards 3 degrees of warming by the end of this century. Can humanity survive that?

Helming though powerful storms and extreme weather, he sensed the impacts of overheated oceans. Those experiences, coupled with the birth of his 4 grandsons, are his motivation as an environmental activist. Back on land, his degree at Cambridge was in English Literature and the History of Art. This gave him profound insights into the work of William Blake and an on-going love of Fine Art and the Insights you can gain when you really look deeply at a painting.
