This talk covers Victorian food adulteration and it’s consequences on the nation’s health, and then compares this with more modern scandals of food adulteration, to see what we have learnt about good quality healthy food and how to recognise it. Some of the reasons for food adulteration now are strikingly similar to those in Victorian times.
