I then became very involved with my local u3a, an organisation for people who are no longer employed full-time, and as the past chair of the local branch where I also lead the history and photographic groups I am accustomed to presenting illustrated talks on many subjects.
Living in Suffolk most of the talks are based on places in the East of England that I have had the enjoyment of visiting, either when walking or staying in an area. When creating a talk I investigate the history and stories, often unusual, of the people and places I go to which often creates the basis for a good talk.
My talks last about one hour with about two hundred slides to look at, which are all taken myself wherever possible.
