The Fens were a flat watery and marshy tract of land running from north Cambridgeshire to Lincolnshire with its own ways and lived in by hardy souls who outsiders claimed to have webbed feet. There are many strange tales associated with the area, many of which I share with the audience.
Views: 881 | Enquiries: 9During my working life I ran my own business as a financial adviser before retiring in 2015. I then became very involved with my local u3a, an organisation for people who are no longer employed full-time, and as the past chair of the local branch where I also lead the history and photographic groups I am accustomed to presenting illustrated talks on many subjects.
Living in Suffolk most of the talks are based on places in the East of England that I have had the enjoyment of visiting, either when walking or staying in an area. When creating a talk I investigate the history and stories, often unusual, of the people and places I go to which often creates the basis for a good talk.
My talks last about one hour with about two hundred slides to look at, which are all taken myself wherever possible.
