Often called the King who gave up his Crown, much gossip and rumour has surrounded the life of this charismatic, but on occasions selfish and self-obsessed, member of the Royal Family. What do we know about his sympathies during the Second World War, and about his marriage to Wallis Simpson?

My specialisms are History and English Literature, (mainly 18th and 19th centuries) and my talk topics are mainly selected from this period. I also broadcast a regular book review slot and a local history slot on community radio, and regularly contribute to newsletters, magazines and journals of both the Bronte Society and the Jane Austen Centre. I am a member of the Royal Historical Society. My academic qualifications are a BA Honours Degree in Humanities with History, and a Masters Degree in Education, also Post-graduate Certificates in both Education and Educational Learning Support. My talks can be anything from 30 minutes to an hour (or more) in length, depending on requirements, and I am always happy to answer questions afterwards. The talks I give can be of a purely academic nature, or there are other options with a more light-hearted and humorous slant, if required! My aim is to inform and entertain.
