The talk looks at the contribution of navvies to the war efforts from the early 19th Century to 1918. The First World War experiences of some of the reservoir navvies who worked at Hurstwood Reservoir is then studied. Did they all join the navvies battalions or Labour Corps or were there experiences at war more varied?
