The Great Orme Escape was a daring escape attempt made by three German officers from their prisoner of war camp Dyffryn Aled near Llansannan. Using the memoirs of Hermann Tholens and Max Valentiner, the talk will look at the events of August 1915 on the Great Orme and in Llandudno. The talk considers what really happened and through the speaker's research discusses the identity of the third escapee, Baron Von Helldorff.
