Although at first glance Calf Hill looks like an empty landscape, archaeological excavations have shown that the site has a hidden history. With evidence of prehistory, medieval vaccary, early 20th century and beyond, this site has it all. The talk looks at research and excavations undertaken on the site and discusses the evidence for occupation.

About Catherine Rousseau

I've a life long interest in archaeology and history and I am a graduate of the University of York. I have experience in excavation, guiding walks and speaking to groups. A former teacher with 25 years experience, I was the chair of local community archaeology groups. I have given talks at the East Lancashire Western Front Association. I am particularly interested in the industrial archaeology and social history of the area around Burnley, Lancashire, and the First World War.
