Considering 'dark tourism', the talk looks at tourism following the First World War at home and abroad. Moving into the present day, the talk looks at how modern archaeological techniques are finding unknown sites which can be visited today.

A former teacher with 25 years experience, I was the chair of local community archaeology groups. I have given talks at the East Lancashire Western Front Association. I am particularly interested in the industrial archaeology and social history of the area around Burnley, Lancashire, and the First World War.
