Biography:

Author, bookworm and history lover, Amanda grew up in Derbyshire but has lived in Oxfordshire since 1997. Starting as a reporter on business-to-business magazines in 1987, her working career has been spent as an Editor in the fields of vending, coffee, catering, foodservice, gastronomy and healthcare (NHS) estates & facilities services. Amanda has published three novels: The Roots of the Tree (2014), The Woman in the Painting (2023) and Lady of the Quay (2025). She is currently editing her fourth, which is a sequel to The Woman in the Painting and should be published in late 2026. She has won awards for both her magazine work and her novels. Amanda is a member of the Society of Authors, the Historical Novel Society and West Oxfordshire Writers. She also volunteers with Age UK to run a book club group (Tea Books) for elderly people locally.
