I am a retired Biochemist (Bsc Manchester, PhD London) and worked in the fields of diabetes, obesity and vaccine development. Since retirement I have kept a close interest in research into the origin of life which has seen very significant progress in the last 20 years that deserves the attention of a wider audience. My vaccine talk aims to entertain and inform a general audience with little or no science background. My origin of life talk has two versions , one for the general audience and one that is suitable for groups with a science interest. It explains how we think life began on this planet and the implication that has for life on other planets.
