A lot of words and phrases were created by the Bard; Or not! Perhaps we’re being hoisted, by our own Petard / And even if we trust the words were truly what was said; Why was the wild goose chased at all? Is the doornail really dead? / Just how short is a shrift? When were the salad days?; Are we truly understanding what’s behind the things he says?

We look at the actual meanings behind phrases we attribute to Shakespeare that we still use today, plus misquotes and phrases that other people wrote.
