This important topic will strike fear into the hearts of many males, and give an unbearable sense of smugness to any female present. Many a time in my household I’ve been asked to intervene in a sewing, or quilting or knitting design or implementation with the refrain “You should be able to figure this out, you’re technical”. But when I have a look at it, it’s invariably completing bamboozling, and astonishingly complex. It often defeats me, or requires a very long time for me to figure it out. So, gentlemen, I bring grim news … sewing is really technical. Terrifyingly, menacingly technical..

About John McCormick

I've recently retired and one of the things I'm looking forward to is to spend more time speaking and telling stories. I regularly give talks in my local village in the Cotswolds, the fabulous Hook Norton. These talks have ranged from the history of Bletchley Park to the Apollo space programme, to the history of flight to the story of how they solved how to measure Longitude. I'm happy to give these talks to other groups, or to research and then speak on a topic of interest to groups.
