In 2002 a BBC poll of over 1.6m people voted Churchill as ‘The greatest Briton that ever lived’. Whilst most of us remember him for his inspired leadership during WW2, many of his achievements and other attributes are largely forgotten.

He was a larger-than-life complex character, but like most great men, he had his share of both successes and failures. The talk explores some of the key moments in his life, together with some of his unique personality traits.

It concludes with live recordings of some of his greatest speeches.

About Bill McNaught

I started work in 1961 as a Westland Helicopters engineering apprentice spending 25 years with the company before moving on to manage a number of other aviation and defence companies. I retired in 2008 and started giving talks as a hobby. My talks are all the result of extensive research of the subject and I try and include as many pictures and film as possible. I particularly like ‘fascinating historical characters’ .
