From the Castles built by the nobility in the Middle Ages to the 1930s 'Semi', the Front garden has always provided an arena for display and eccentricity. This talk takes a tour of the whole history of the Front Garden from Roman times to the present day. A celebration of the most memprable and stunning examples of English gardening, some extremely rand, and some 'pocket handkerchief', all showing style and originality. Illustrated with beautiful slides.

His talks do not require any special equipment, and for those which are illustrated with slides, Francis brings all his own equipment, which can include a very large screen.
He is available during the day, and at short notice, and will travel all over the South West, including Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Hampshire, Dorset, Somerset and Devon. He asks for his petrol expenses, and a donation towards his chosen charity, as much as you can reasonably afford. He asks you to be as generous as possible!
