This talk highlights the development of a prison from Victorian times. It focuses on many surprising connections to the prison, including Patsy from Ab Fab, Arsenal's top scorer, Micky Mouse and others, they all have something in common.
There is a touch of the supernatural, and some back to basics with Sex, Drugs and Rock 'n'Roll, yes in a prison as well. I ask the questions have things changed for the better or worse?
Students of social history will find lots to engage them. People who are curious about how prisons grew and developed will also find much to engage them. All of it is delivered with a good dose of humour.
Views: 856 | Enquiries: 9I am almost uniquely experienced within the criminal justice system. I worked for the Probation Service in Cumbria. I served as a Prison Governor at a number of different prisons in the Midlands and South West areas of England. I was the first Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner for Essex.
I have provided commentary and analysis on a number of BBC programmes, TV and radio. I have written a number of articles aimed at criminal justice professionals involved in the Youth Justice system.
I have also written some short stories, based on my experiences in prison. I have been commended from different sources
My presentations are laced with humour, facts and anecdotes; I seek to take my audience on a journey of exploration inside the murky world or prisons.
