An author-led, two-hour discussion on my third novel, The Memory of an Elephant The discussion questions the ethics and reasons aired in the novel, namely humankind's treatment of animals and the wider environment. The novel is a detective thriller that begins with the callous hit-and-run incident. This draws together two police officers (Archie and Kanjara) the twin sister of the deceased (Linden Lea) a black terrier (Jasper) and a baby elephant (Amahle) into a coalition of the willing as they come up against big government in their search for the truth. What connects them all is the memory of an elephant which offers redemption for some, retribution for others and a realisation that the desire for revenge is not only a human trait. I am happy to supply copies of this novel for pre-session reading at cost price plus postage
