A two hour, author-led discussion session based on my first novel, Ladies of the Shire. Beginning in 1895 and following events through to 1918, the story of Ladies of the Shire is a social history love story concerning the people and animals under their care. Focussing around two farming families, the people working on their farms, and their working horses, Ladies of the Shire weaves together their lives on an unforgettable journey from the hayfields of Leicestershire to the mud and bloody artistry of 1914/18 France. From these trenches rises a retribution that will lay claim to all they hold precious, demanding a sacrifice none ever thought would be asked of them. I am happy to supply copies of this novel for pre-session reading at cost price plus postage
