A new intellectual movement swept across Europe in the second millennium - affecting every aspect of design, including Architecture. John uses photographs and diagrams to define terms like 'Palladian', 'Baroque' and 'Neoclassical'. Then, as industrialism took hold, designers revived medieval styles. In Britain there were some key influencers - John identifies them.
