Biography:

Malcolm Hogarth JP has been a magistrate for over 25 years and is currently the chairman of Suffolk Magistrates. The role involves the pastoral care of 170 volunteer magistrates and being the voice of the magistracy in the community - reaching out to inform and educate people about the role of a magistrate and to help bust the myths that prevail, with the aim of increasing public confidence in the justice system through a more accurate portrayal of how it all works. This includes explaining who can be a magistrate, the skills and attributes required and how to apply.
