The role involves the pastoral care of 170 volunteer magistrates and being the voice of the magistracy in the community - reaching out to inform and educate people about the role of a magistrate and to help bust the myths that prevail, with the aim of increasing public confidence in the justice system through a more accurate portrayal of how it all works. This includes explaining who can be a magistrate, the skills and attributes required and how to apply.
