Details of talks given by Martin Grant
REMAP is a national charity that operates through around 80 autonomous panels around the UK. Volunteer engineers in each panel design and make special pieces of equipment to help improve the lives of those with disabilities in their panel’s locality - in our case, those living in Leicestershire and Rutland. The equipment we make could be something as simple as a handle to open a window. On the other hand, it could be mechanically complex and ingenious. The common factor is that each piece of equipment is custom made to help one person overcome a particular problem where no suitable commercial device is available. I have been giving presentations about our work for many years around the two counties we serve. The usual format is a short film explaining how we operate, followed by slides and a description of some of our recent devices. I provide all the equipment I need and am flexible as to the content and length of the talk.
