A description of how Leicestershire and Rutland REMAP operates. Slides and short videos are shown, depicting a selection of recent equipment our volunteers have designed and made for local people with a wide range of disabilities.

Volunteer engineers in each panel design and make special pieces of equipment to help improve the lives of those with disabilities in their panel’s locality - in our case, those living in Leicestershire and Rutland. The equipment we make could be something as simple as a handle to open a window. On the other hand, it could be mechanically complex and ingenious. The common factor is that each piece of equipment is custom made to help one person overcome a particular problem where no suitable commercial device is available. I have been giving presentations about our work for many years around the two counties we serve. The usual format is a short film explaining how we operate, followed by slides and a description of some of our recent devices. I provide all the equipment I need and am flexible as to the content and length of the talk.
