Runner Up in the 2024 "Sailor of the Year", winner of the Old Pulteney Maritime Hero of the year award 2018 and runner up in the Yachts and Yachting Achievement of the Year 2016, 2 of my talks are about charity adventure dinghy sailing . The talks are not designed just for sailors, but for everyone. Focussing on the emotional roller coaster, and the physical/mental challenges that such extreme adventures bring with them. The story is told with the addition of "on baord" video footage and stunning photos enabling you discover the stunning scenry and intriguing places of the UK coastline. Each adventure is full of unusual situations which bring to life the human side of taking on such unusual challenges. The talks are given solely with the aim of raising money for two charities, Cancer Research and Oakhaven Hospice andl the speaker fee goes to the charities. Two sailing talks are available: "Race To Scotland" - the story of sailing a dinghy twice as big as your bath tub from Lands End to John O Groats; "Going Dizzy in a Dinghy" - the story of trying to become the first person to dinghy sail round all the 250 plus islands in England and Wales.

I also offer a talk about how Air Traffic Control keeps you safe every time you fly. The talk explains all you would want to know about why you get delayed, how safe is air travel, what is a "near miss" and how we move millions of flights a year safely over UK airspace. The talk is based on a 30 plus year career as an Air Traffic Controller at Heathrow airport and europe's busiest ATC Centre - Swanwick in Hampshire.
