From a grass civilian airfield to a fully operational RAF Fighter Station, RAF Exeter and three Squadrons of Hawker Hurricanes would prove themselves repeatedly. Following the timelines of 213, 87 and 601 Squadrons, some incredible stories are written into the history books. Under the control of number 10 group, the Squadrons would patrol and protect the southwest of England whilst the RAF Station was being constructed around them.
