We all know the story of RMS Titanic, the ship on her fateful Maiden Voyage in 1912 but what do we know of her passengers? What are the stories behind the disaster? What don’t you know about Titanic and that fateful night? In this talk, I will of course, talk about the ship and the events which led to her collision with the iceberg and the rescue which should have happened earlier and the eventual arrival of Carpathia to take aboard those who made it to lifeboats. I will also give you several real accounts of those who travelled on board and were rescued and those who drowned in the disaster. You will learn things you never knew about Titanic and the situations which led to the sinking… We will also look at the films made about the disaster and the local connections to Pinewood Studios in Iver. This is a fascinating insight into one of the most famous (or infamous) events to happen at sea! monies paid go to The Seafarers Charity
