This is a talk which centres on the career of this most beautiful aircraft and looks firstly at the development of Aviation in the 20th century from the Wright Brothers to Concorde Project in a relatively short period of time. I then explore in depth the development of the project and look at some of the challenges both practical and political! We will see and hear the Concorde “sound” again and experience the Sonic Bang which was such an issue. We will take a look at the people who flew on the aircraft, the luxury they enjoyed and there will be anecdotes and stories aplenty. We will see a take-off from the flight deck, an interview with a Concorde Stewardess and I will explain where Concorde flew to, and there will be some unusual pictures to view, bearing in mind the way the aircraft became a National Treasure! Of course, I will cover the only crash which Concorde suffered and provide some insight as the cause… Once services had resumed, the aircraft continued to operate safely but I will demonstrate how costs decided the future of Supersonic flight. Finally, I will show the audience where the Concorde aircraft are now, and how they can very locally, visit her and experience the cabin and flight deck for themselves… This is an interesting talk, which combines audio, audio visual and speech covering slides, often humorous and full of information not usually known!
