Pioneer aviator, author, philosopher, enigmatic war hero, and tempestuous, unfaithful lover. His most famous work is “The Little Prince”. There are those who question whether this is really a children’s story, but on one level it certainly has an appeal as such; but he had so much more to offer than that this one work.
However, "The Little Prince" has many references to St Exupéry’s own life, particularly his plane crash in the desert, and the rose that the little prince tends is really thought to be his wife Consuelo. Theirs was a tempestuous relationship. A complex story yet a simple man in many ways, his disappearance in a plane crash in the mediterranean in 1944 on a reconnaisance mission has left an enduring mystery.
Views: 177 | Enquiries: 0I am a devoted fan of dance. A late return to classes rekindled my love for dance and led me into a world that I thought had passed me by. I became involved with an amateur ballet company in 2002, joined the committee later that year and also performed with them from 2002 until 2018.
Elected as Chairman in 2010 I successfully transferred my extensive business skills and experience into its organisation, channeling my efforts and motivation into ensuring the future of this amateur company; stepping down in 2018 I left it in an enviable financial position. Giving talks about the company brought it to the attention of a far wider audience and considerably boosted ticket sales.
I am continuing to share my love of dance and theatre with entertaining talks to audiences from Townswomens’ Guilds, NWR groups, U3As, Rotary Clubs, Women’s Institutes etc. wherever there is a desire for interesting, educational and lighthearted talks with Ballet as a central theme. I have now added a talk about one of my favourite authors to my repertoire and am researching another talk that I hope to add very soon. I donate my fee to the MS Society.
My talks are accompanied by PowerPoint presentations and all last approximately 45 minutes. I bring a tutu and shoes to illustrate my ballet talks. I supply all of the equipment including a screen where necessary. I am happy to give talks via ZOOM, although my preference is in person where possible. I look forward to hearing from you.
