Clouds are a constant factor for everyone, the presence, and the absence. They have a profound impact on all life. An overview of clouds is given which covers partly the science and also the beauty and the deep impact on human psychology. An indication of the importance is some thoughts on how architects through the ages have drawn inspiration from the sky. So much of old and modern architecture seems to be influenced by the clouds. In some cases, it may be deliberate, particularly with some religious structures, where soaring colonnades and high vaulted interiors might metaphorically look up to the heavens. Cloud spotting as fun and educational particularly for young minds is introduced with examples which bring out the imagination.
