The Derbyshire River Derwent takes the traveller past sites representing much of the county’s long and varied history – reservoirs, country houses, transport-routes, industrial settlements, holiday resorts.
This presentation highlights the variety of scenery and the rich historical heritage of this spectacular area in the heartland of northern England, including the Derwent, Howden and Ladybower Reservoirs, Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, Matlock and Matlock Bath, the Cromford Canal and the Cromford & High Peak Railway, the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site, the city of Derby and the canal-port of Shardlow.
