If Liotard was so wealthy and such a skilled portrait artist, known all over the world by the very wealthy, why has no one heard of him? Find out why in this well illustrated talk. Why did Gainsborough dislike him so much? How did he gain fame and popularity in a 1750s London, already teeming with two thousand other portrait artists? How did he move painting on with unknown techniques and make a lasting impression on the art world? I’ll tell you! And more !
Views: 505 | Enquiries: 1I was a primary teacher and headteacher all my working life and have given many talks and presentations to adults, but now I can indulge my passions! When I retired I discovered that I am a pastelist (I’d never touched pastels before!) and I use that skill to raise money for an animal rescue centre in North Macedonia, run entirely by two dedicated young women. I have currently three art talks, all well illustrated with slides, both entertaining and enlightening.
