Based on my radio shows, this talk looks at some of the great early jazz men and women, their music and their often extraordinary lives. While you listen to artists like Jelly Roll Morton, King Oliver, Louis Armstrong and Bessie Smith, you can get a feeling for this fascinating decade through stories, photographs and newspaper cuttings from the time.
