Learn how the world’s most famous ship - and wreck - was built and sailed in 1912. This tragic story of the great liner that sank on its first voyage is awash with marvels, mysteries and myths.

The biggest ship of its time had many surprising connections with the Midlands and Cotswolds. Find out how its owner’s name came from the Cotswolds and why Titanic was equipped with countless fittings from the Midlands.

Learn why the ship had a fake funnel, enjoy the irony of it carrying two ice-making machines, and meet the heroes and villains of the sinking.

Your guide in this hour-long presentation is Blue Badge guide Sean Callery, author of four children's books about the great ship.

About Sean Callery

Hello! I am a qualified tour guide with a background as a teacher and children's author.

My Blue Badge tourist guide is for the Heart of England (which covers the area between Birmingham and Gloucester) and I specialise in the Cotswolds. In fact, I've written a book about its quirky sights and stories called Offbeat Cotswolds.

Publishing this book drew on my experience writing about 70 children's books, some of them stories but mainly non-fiction, for some of the UK's top publishers. I love researching information and finding fun ways to present it - something I also did in a past role as a primary school teacher.

My talks get great feedback as being entertaining and informative.
