Hear tales from beyond the graves of the Cotswolds, from writers to ratcatchers, the famous to the unloved. Enjoy the beauty of some marvellous memorials, and learn about some intriguing lives. What would you like to be remembered for? Find answers to this question from others who lived and died in the Cotswolds. There are stories from the area’s time as an economic powerhouse based around wool and stone, and from later on when the (mostly) wealthy aimed to be remembered forever - and one pair who a town were keen to forget.
Ther are tales of tragic death, the origins of the American flag, and a spa pioneer who told his own (admittedly eventful) life story in tedious detail. Some memorials are also beautiful works of art - this talk is a visual feast. Often charming, occasionally poignant, these memorials offer fascinating stories of the rich, famous, unlucky or crazed.

My Blue Badge tourist guide is for the Heart of England (which covers the area between Birmingham and Gloucester) and I specialise in the Cotswolds. In fact, I've written a book about its quirky sights and stories called Offbeat Cotswolds.
Publishing this book drew on my experience writing about 70 children's books, some of them stories but mainly non-fiction, for some of the UK's top publishers. I love researching information and finding fun ways to present it - something I also did in a past role as a primary school teacher.
My talks get great feedback as being entertaining and informative.
