David is known in the fragrance industry as the Indiana Jones of the Scents Industry and in 2002 he came back from America with a precious cargo. Phials of perfume samples found in the debris field of Titanic. The owner, Adolphe Saalfeld, survived, but his bag went down. David took his idea for recreating the scent to Dragons’ Den and successfully pitched for £80,000. Come and hear their story and smell again something which came up “smelling of roses.” The true “Heart of The Ocean.” The Titanic Perfume, NIGHT STAR, launched on an unsuspecting world market.

About David Hunter Pybus

David is a professional speaker and has worked in the cruise ship industry and at universities for over twenty years specialising in Perfumery (his career) and mysteries (his hobby). He was originally a chemist working for the Boots Company, ICI and then Unilever. His degree in Chemistry was augmented by a Masters in Marketing and a diploma in Perfumery.

In 2007 David won £80,000 on Dragons' Den to pursue his dream of opening a perfume company, Scents of Time, based on perfumes lost in time through disaster, found again and recreated. Two of his perfumes were from RMS Titanic and Pompeii.

He has published four books, three on aspects of Perfumery ("The Chemistry of Fragrances." "Transports of Delight" and "Kodo the way of incense.")

His fourth book, "The true identity of Jack the Ripper" (available on Kobo) comes from a cruiser asking him after a talk on Jack the Ripper "Why the greatest detective of all times at the height of his deductive powers was not put on to catch that bloke."

Having explained that whilst Jack was very real Sherlock Holmes was entirely fictional David stepped into Sherlock's Shoes to nail the individual, and in the words of the great man himself "When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, is the truth."

David's talks on Jack have packed theatres and he is now firmly convinced that he has nailed the serial killer of seven women in London's Whitechapel area.
