Biography:

MYTIME Young Carers is a charity dedicated to supporting young carers aged 5–25 across Dorset and the Isle of Wight. We believe that no child’s destiny should be defined by their beginning, and we work to ensure that every young carer is recognised, supported, and given the opportunity to thrive.

Young carers take on significant responsibilities at home, often caring for a family member with a disability, illness, mental health condition, or substance misuse issue. Many young carers go unrecognised and unsupported, which can have a huge impact on their education, wellbeing, relationships, and future opportunities.

Through our programmes, including support, wellbeing activities, life skills development, employability support, and opportunities to connect with other young carers, MYTIME helps young people feel seen, valued, and empowered.

Our talks aim to raise awareness of young carers, share the realities of their experiences, highlight the importance of early identification and support, and inspire individuals, schools, and organisations to play a role in creating a more supportive community for young carers.
