Details of talks given by Phil X Morris
Now in my 70’s and finally (!) retired I spent over 40 years working as a fire safety professional, but then came to full-time writing, spending a further 10 years writing text books and client advice material for a global corporation’s in-house training academy. So, no one was more surprised than me when I then found myself writing children’s storybooks and capping my charity filmmaking “sideline” by producing, directing and animating a BBFC Certificate “U” 3D animated film for young children!
Changing to a writing job enabled me to take on voluntary work for charities that were operating in support of the emergency services, involving taking on roles ranging from driver of an emergency support vehicle based at a large fire station, to being an operational member of my local search & rescue team.
As the team’s nominated Community Officer giving talks to local groups and organisations was a regular and very pleasant part of my role. I'm very happy now to continue to give talks (at no fee), but happy to accept even the smallest of donations for the charity "National Search and Rescue Dog Association (NSARDA)".
NB For mobility reasons I would prefer to limit my travelling to the western half of Kent plus the London Boroughs of Bromley and Bexley. Thank you!
