Details of talks given by Greg Cathrae
Greg Cathrae I am an ex-serviceman in the British Army having completed 9 operational tours including Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan on multiple occasions. I served in a reconnaissance regiment which involved finding, fixing and engaging with enemy forces using all assets available. In Afghanistan I spent some time as a Forward Air Controller with the Jordanian Special Forces. I also completed humanitarian operations working with civilian companies in Bosnia 1993-94, 1996 and 2000. My experience has taught me resilience, leadership, discipline, courage and respect for others. Amongst the danger and deprivations there was also deep comradeship, a strong sense of identity, purpose and humour. All of these glued us together as a unit and made us combat effective. Since leaving the Army, I spent 12 years on the close protection circuit in London looking after ultra-high net worth individuals (UHNWI) which included surveillance. I am happy to deliver talks on UN peacekeeping operations in Bosnia or operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. I use archive film footage and provide a real insight into my experiences and how they can be of benefit in the here and now. I am an experienced speaker having instructed in the army and given talks to adult and school groups. I am based in the North East and am happy to travel anywhere in the UK. My talks are designed to be of interest to everyone. There are delivered in an energetic manner, and I am always willing to take questions at the end. I ensure that I tailor my talks to my audience. They last 45 minutes to 1 hour plus questions.
