I retired early to look after my wife, who suffered from APS Antiphospholipid Syndrome, she was totally disabled for 10 years, prior to her death in 2015, after which I decided to spread awareness, initially to walk from the Isles of Scilly to the Shetlands, sadly only completed part due to severe knee problems, and over following 6 years have spoken to some 420+ Rotary and similar Clubs
In 2023, I had to opportunity to visit Potters Village, Kisoro Uganda, to a Children's Medical Centre and a Children's Crisis Centre in order to present vital equipment to them, and found out about the various projects necessary to maintain the community and the constant flow of very young children, often with very poorly mothers
