I run popular online wine courses and run the online wine magazine www.wineuncorked.co.uk, which aims to explain wine in a simple straightforward way.

I trained as an engineer and worked in the research team at a food packaging manufacturer early in my career. In 1995 I decided I’d rather be involved with the food inside the packaging and began teaching food and drink courses at adult education colleges.

These courses were so popular they were regularly over-subscribed. I also ran talks and tasting sessions for local businesses and social groups, including Women’s Institutes and Rotary Clubs, on wine and tea.

I have written on wine for the Women's Institute magazine and since 2008 have contributed the column Paula's Wines of the Week to Mature Times. I am now the editor of the wine review and tips website www.wineuncorked.co.uk.
