She went on to study History of Art for a year then taught English as a Foreign Language in Italy and France before returning to the UK. She worked for twenty years in the charitable sector before retiring. She now enjoys speaking regularly on cruises about port destinations, Classical Civilisation and Art History. She is an Anglican lay minister, married with three sons and three grandchildren. She loves walking, gardening, skiing, travel, good food and wine.
