Why do we often know exactly what to do, yet find ourselves unable to start?

This talk moves beyond generic ADHD awareness and into the practical reality of the "Performance Gap" - the frustrating disconnect between intention and action. Originally delivered to over 270 employees at Aviva Life & Pensions, this session is designed for professionals, leaders, and teams who want to understand how the ADHD brain actually works in a high-pressure environment.

Drawing on 20 years of experience as a Tech Founder and Managing Director, Gary Hammond shares:

  • What is ADHD: Why "willpower" isn't the problem.
  • The Complexity Paradox: Why big ideas are easy, but simple admin is hard.
  • Sustainable Strategies: Moving past "crisis-mode" productivity.
  • Building Neuro-Inclusive Teams: Practical shifts for managers and colleagues.

Gary provides an authentic, no-fluff, and often humorous look at navigating a professional career with ADHD. This session is available for in-person events (UK, Ireland, Europe) and high-engagement virtual delivery.

About Gary Hammond

Gary Hammond is a certified ADHD coach and former tech executive with over 20 years of experience in the "tech trenches" as a founder, Managing Director, and Head of Product. Originally from Dublin and now based in Barcelona, Gary bridges the gap between lived neurodivergent experience and high-level professional leadership.

After his diagnosis in 2013, Gary spent a decade navigating organisational complexity before finding support that actually worked. Today, through his practice iterate ADHD, he helps audiences move beyond "awareness" and into action. He frames ADHD as a Performance Gap - the frustrating disconnect between knowing what to do and actually doing it.

Gary is a member of the ADHD Coaches Organisation (ACO) and CHADD. He is known for a refreshingly no-fluff and authentic approach, providing teams with a shared language to support neurodiversity without sacrificing high performance.

Talk Title: Breaking Up with Normal: ADHD in the Professional World

This signature talk was recently delivered to over 270 employees at Aviva Life & Pensions and remains one of their most-referenced sessions. It is designed for corporate teams, leaders, and professionals who are tired of "textbook" advice and want practical strategies that hold up in real-life, high-pressure environments.

In this session, Gary explores:

  • The Performance Gap: Why we know exactly what to do, yet struggle to start.
  • Why complex problems often feel easier than simple admin tasks for the ADHD brain.
  • Moving past "superpower" tropes to build systems that actually work.
  • How managers can support neurodivergent talent with confidence and clarity.

This talk is available for in-person events across the UK, Ireland, and Europe, as well as high-engagement virtual sessions globally.

PLEASE NOTE: I am now based in Barcelona, Spain, but I travel frequently to Ireland and the UK for in-person speaking engagements. I am also fully equipped for high-quality virtual sessions globally.
