Accountability is one of the most common leadership challenges and one of the most frequently avoided. This session provides leaders with a clear framework for communicating expectations and addressing performance and behavioural issues early without damaging relationships.

Participants will explore:

  • Establishing clear standards and measurable expectations
  • Addressing underperformance without damaging morale
  • Conducting structured accountability conversations
  • Managing resistance professionally
  • Reinforcing positive performance behaviours

The focus is on creating a culture where accountability is seen as developmental and not punitive, and where leaders feel confident to hold team members to account.

This talk forms part of the Emerging Leaders Series and can be booked in isolation or along with 'The 5 Levels of Delegation' and 'Leading Difficult Conversations with Confidence' at a discounted rate.

Follow up group or 1:1 coaching sessions can also be booked following the talk to support leaders as they put their learning into practice. Please enquire about fees and packages.

About Tara Collins

Tara is a leadership coach, speaker and Director of Collins Coaching and Consultancy, bringing over 20 years’ experience in education and in senior leadership roles.

Throughout her career, she has worked closely with new and emerging leaders navigating the challenges of stepping into leadership for the first time. She currently supports new and emerging leaders as a leadership coach and consultant. Having experienced the realities of leadership herself, Tara understands the practical challenges that often accompany these roles.

Her work focuses on equipping leaders with practical, usable frameworks that make leading for the first time more manageable. She provides tools and conversation structures that leaders can implement immediately within their teams. Her 'Emerging Leaders Development Series' tackles issues new leaders often face in a safe and productive way: delegating effectively, holding people to account and having difficult conversations.

Known for her warm and approachable style, Tara creates space for honest discussion while gently challenging leaders to grow. She believes leadership is not about authority, but about clarity, courage and confidence.

Through virtual workshops/webinars and coaching programmes, she supports organisations in developing confident leaders who are equipped to lead with impact.
